Essential Oil Dilution Guide
An essential oil is a pure, aromatic, volatile liquid that is extracted from flowers, shrubs, trees, roots, bushes, and seeds through steam distillations. Using them can enhance physical, emotional, and even spiritual well being. They are also very powerful and it’s important to know how to dilute them. Although some can be applied directly, a good rule of thumb is to always dilute for children and to not apply topically for children under three months old.
To make a dilution simply add your essential oil to a carrier oil like coconut, olive, sesame, etc. Here is a guide to use for children. It can be nice to make a dilution in advance for quick use.
