Insight For Water Element Type Parents
Water element types are in general a bit reserved. This goes for their approach to friendship and in love.
They are careful to observe others before diving into a deeper trust and openness. As trust builds, the water type could slowly and in private settings, open to show their playfulness, creativity and deep philosophical ideas.
If you are around a water type, be prepared to delve into discussions about the meaning of life and their insight into creative ways to solve the worlds problems.
Water types don’t take parenthood lightly. Oftentimes their approach is to focus on the deeper emotional issues and feelings of their child. This helps the parent really see and nurture the child. Plus their playfulness and creativity make it easy for the parent to be with their child on their level.
However, an imbalanced water parent can be overly protective and fearful of what could happen with their child. They anticipate what could go wrong and fear the worst. This can tend to cause the child to, depending on their element type, to be fearful, tentative to life or an all out extreme sports type to overcome the fear of the parent.

When the imbalanced water parent stresses, they could perceive their child intentionally resisting, triggering or challenging whatever they say.
To counteract this tendency, the imbalanced water parent can take a moment and ask themselves, is the fear that I’m anticipating or the anxiety I am feeling REAL? And, if the threat is real, then find ways to secure the situation and to get support from a trusted non water element person. If not, try taking a few deep breaths and coming back to the present moment.
There are always two sides to imbalances in every element. The excessive imbalance of the water type is the ‘dare-devil” personality. They tend to take the water element fear and use it to propel them to extreme sports such as heli-skiing, or bungie jumping super close to an alligator pool.
Those parents who are addicted to adrenaline can also cause their child to be overly confident and put themselves in potentially harmful situations. The irony is that that is exactly what the parent was trying to avoid.
